Why do I have a profile even though I just want to train – and what can others see about me?

Since January 2026, the rule at Trait is: account = profile. Anyone who creates a Trait account automatically has a profile too – that's also stated in our Terms of Service. You don't need to do anything else for this, and you don't have to use the profile either.

What others always see

• the name you entered
• your profile photo

So other users can see that there's, for example, an “Anna” with this photo on Trait – nothing more at first. Everything else (stats, training times, etc.) depends on whether your profile is public or private. You can find the details under Public or private profile.

What is never visible

The starting location of your training sessions is not visible to anyone – neither to friends nor on public profiles.

If you don't want to be recognizable

You can choose a different name (e.g. “Sibylle35”) and a neutral photo. That way, others won't be able to recognize you as a real person, and you usually won't get many requests either. You can change your name and photo via the Crews tab at the bottom of the app, in your profile.
