Adjusting your plan, illness & holidays

I'm going on vacation – do I need to pause my plan?

You can pause the plan completely via Home screen → orange box → Training plan page. But usually it's better to simply train less on vacation: set the training mode to Light and switch it back afterwards. The Readiness Score isn't the right route for vacation.

Vacation doesn't mean “not ready” – so you don't report it via the Readiness Score. Instead, you have two other options:

Option 1: Pause the plan completely

On the home screen, go to the small orange box; it takes you to the Training plan page. There you'll find several settings for your plan, including pausing. This is currently the only way to fully pause the plan for a vacation. Only the training plan is paused – a Pro subscription continues to run independently.

Option 2 (our recommendation): Light training mode

Vacation doesn't have to mean not running at all. Some people want to push hard on vacation, others just want an easy run now and then. That's what the training mode is for: set it to Light before your trip – then about two sessions per week are dropped and the rest become easier – and back to Base after your vacation. Where to change the mode and what to keep in mind is explained in Light, Base, All-In. The training mode is only available with a plan in individual training, not with a fixed target time.

If you're sick or injured, on the other hand, the Readiness Score is the right route: Sick or injured: pausing the plan and getting back into it.
